When I think of fashionable couples in the R&B genre, I can't help but refer to Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Yeah, say what you want but they were a couple according to friends of theirs in the industry. For me though, they set the bar on what an R&B couple should be. You both don't have to be in the same genre of music (or even the same profession), but you have to have the same drive for the art form. And their passion showed through their music. So in honor of couples such as them, Ashford & Simpson, Ike (RIP) and Tina, and so on and so forth; I give you the most FASHIONABLE couples representing us today. And who I think will lead by example in the future. And heads up, the 8 main couples are married. Yeah, they put a ring on it! Enjoy!
First up, you know it wouldn't be right if we failed to mention the TOP DIVA in this game and her husband, lets call them the CARTERS. Haha, there's no need for an introduction really but I do appreciate their fashion sense a lot. They compliment each other, good job Hov!
And then we have the Thickes!
What I can appreciate the most about them is that they don't try to match each other down to the tee. They have separate identities but when they come together everyone sees their unison. I love the Thickes!
Next up is the Cannons!
There's a lot of talk around town on their marriage and the authenticity of it but screw that, they are husband and wife! Signed, sealed, delivered: they are together! So I disregard what people say and focus on them as a couple. And let me tell you, I love Nick Cannon as a husband! He is such a "husband" because he's man enough to hold an umbrella for her or hold her purse and he helps her to the car and so on. I can respect that because his main purpose is to make her happy and ladies, can we ask for anything else?
Moving on, you cant help but respect J. Lo's decision to marry Latin Lover Marc Anthony!
Even when Jenny was pregnant, Marc made her feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. That says it all!
Now you know we can't forget about the "Moores"!
When Chante Moore and Kenny Lattimore got married, I knew it was bound to last! Like I said about Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, they both had the same drive and passion for the art form. And I can say just as much about Kenny and Chante.
I haven't forgotten about the Nashs, relax! They're up next!
Right off the back, we want to congratulate these two on the birth of their daughter! Now back to the topic at hand, The Dream and Christina Milian we're one of those couples that we were shaky about. Are they going to last? Will they persevere? Well nobody is psychic and we cannot predict the future, but who's to say that they won't be together forever? We wish them success in their careers and happiness in their marriage. No other couple can match like these two! (clothes, that is)
Our prime fashionable couple is the Issacs, better known as Kendu and Mary J.
(sidenote: don't you just love that love stare!?) Anyway, Kendu and Mary have been married for 7 years and we see 50 more for these two. No further comments, you know you love them as much as we do!
And on this day (the 13th Anniversary to Biggie's death), we thought it would be honorable to mention him and his wife Faith Evans.
Now down to our last couple, we know we said it was for an R&B artist and their significant other. But bump it, we're gonna break the rules for our favorite couple of all time. Let's call them Mr. and Mrs. Smith!
I don't even think we need to explain why they're on the FASHIONABLE COUPLES list, its very evident. There's nothing else to say really but that the Smiths is showing what love is. And how to make it last. Period and point blank.
And now, we have a few couples who we think will lead by example when their time comes.
